Line Mechanic

Are you an Industrial Mechanic that is looking for the challenge of launching a brand new, state of the art manufacturing plant?
If so, Silgan Containers, the largest manufacturer of metal food containers in the U.S., is currently seeking Line Mechanics for our newly opened manufacturing plant in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. These new roles will assist with the installation, launch and qualification of our newest can making facility.
Line Mechanics will install, operate, troubleshoot, repair and adjust, maintain and perform overhauls on production equipment related to the can making process. Candidates will work with all levels of plant personnel to help the plant launch, improve, and run efficiently.
Essential Job Functions:
Extensive mechanical knowledge of production equipment
Ability to operates any and all production equipment
Ability to use manuals to learn and master new mechanical components and related equipment.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical diagrams ? able to use to install and help troubleshoot issues with machines
Maintains all work areas to expected levels of organization and cleanliness
Completes all required documentation for purposes of traceability, activity and maintenance records.
Work with team members to improve work area, safety, quality, cost and productivity
Job Requirements
The Preferred Candidate Will Have:
High school diploma or equivalent. Trade or technical school education is highly preferred.
At least 2 years of previous mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Prior can making experience is a plus.
Prior experience with equipment launch or start-ups is preferred.
Able to work with little direction; strong communication skills and familiarity working in a high-speed manufacturing environment are preferred.
Able to work on feet all day, able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts, either on a continuous work schedule or conventional work schedule, depending on production needs, able to work either day or night shift, able to lift up to 50lbs., occasional work in confined spaces, able to bend, twist and kneel, able to work at heights including the use of steps and ladders.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
